Lakshmi Andiappan Yoga Community is a non-profit, fully volunteer organization whose mission is to share yoga with those who may not be able to afford yoga classes or those who may have special needs or circumstances and believe in the benefits of yoga, and are committed to teaching yoga on a strictly volunteer basis. About Us
Lakshmi Andiappan Yoga Community (LAYC) is bringing yoga to more people who might never have enjoyed its benefits. A non-profit, fully volunteer organization of Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) certified yoga instructors trained in the tradition of Thirmuloor's therapeutic yoga - Lakshmi Andiappan Yoga Community offers yoga classes to those who have special needs or circumstances.
Apart from yoga, she has a deep-rooted passion for Carnatic music and has earned several awards for her musical talents. In 2002, she established her own yoga centre in T Nagar, Chennai, with a focus on therapeutic yoga approaches. Specialising in disease prevention and management through Hatha Yoga, she has garnered international recognition for her expertise in prenatal, postnatal, and therapeutic yoga.
She has made numerous television appearances on channels such as Vijay TV, Sun TV, Raj TV, Kalaignar TV, Captain TV, and even on the Tamil channel Vanvil in London. Her dedication extends globally, conducting workshops and teacher training courses in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, and Sri Lanka. She collaborates with esteemed universities and serves as a guest lecturer for MSC and MPhil programs in Yoga at institutions including Dr. MGR University, YMCA, and TN Physical Education and Sports University.
Her impact extends beyond traditional settings to corporate entities such as Wipro, HCL, TCS, and Cognizant, where she has tailored yoga programs for employees. She has also taught yoga to healthcare professionals at Venkateshwara Hospital and conducted specialised programs for police personnel at the Police Training College in TamilNadu.
